There was a style in the 90s that especially intrigued me. Somatic Responses were the champions of it, but there was also Lasse Steen, The Joker, Dr. Macabre, Lory D, The Mover (well TBH they were all champions) and some other artists that had some outings in that realm; I'm talking about the use of heavy distorted drums and lots of percussion in broken, disjunct, arhythmic ways combined with the most outer space types of synths and otherwordly melodies. Something inbetween Breakcore, IDM, Space Ambient, Gabba, Industrial Noize and much, much more. I too tried, in the 90s and beyond, to do some tracks in that field - if I failed or succeeded at it, I'm not to judge. They for example ended up on my Anarcho-Psychotic EP or on various compilations. There are seven tracks that I consider the most complete in this "experiment", and they're here compiled on one release for the first time.

The Anti-Sedative EP was the first EP on vinyl by me that was released back in 2000. Now 19 years later the tracks are here on a digital re-release. This is example of the first style of music I produced in, Experimental Hardcore, Breakcore and Speedcore, which has not much focus on melody (although the first hints of that can be heard in "Disharmonic" for example) or Techno methods, or New Wave asthetics as in my newer tracks. This release played an important part in my personal history and opened up the door for later releases, lots of gigs, and other adventures. We have two Speedcore tracks here, clocking at around 400 BPM, two early Breakcore track with a promiment disharmonic mood, a remix of an old videogame tune (together with Knifehandchop) and an attempt to do a kind of twisted Electro track. These are all the original tracks as I sent them to Hardy of Blut records, with the exception of Sadstep which comes in a 2019 remaster which I think stays true to the original.
There is some story to this release and I wrote it down some time ago, so here it is:
"in 1999, i already had sent out dozens of demo-tapes. emailed as much labels. but, so far, no one was interested in releasing a full EP by me. i had some tracks on compilations - biophilia allstars, irritant. but not a true release yet. so i walked in the otaku record store here in my city, hamburg. i had seen hardy, of fischkopf, working at the container record store before, so i know what he looked like. he ran blut records now, out of the otaku store. i bought a record, i think it was somatix on deadly systems, that just came in, and left. next week i came back with a demo-tape i had recorded for this purpose. i walked up to hardy and said "you are hardy?". he said "yes". i said "you're doing blut records right? i have a demo tape here for your label, with my music". he looked at me with a bit of bewilderment. i gave him the tape. "you are doing this music?" he asked, still a bit sceptical perhaps. i said "yes". a week later again, i came back. he said he had listened to the tape, and wanted to make a vinyl 12" with my music. it would be the last 12" of blut records."
Review from back in the day:
Six tracks that come from all over the map. My current favourite is Flatline, a truly distorted number punctuated with the sort of sounds I associate with extreme speaker damage... Wonderful. A close second is the drum'n'bass-ish Sadstep. On the whole, the three tracks on the a-side are the more agressive cuts, while the flip side ranges from Electrocution (which sounds like some sort of perversion of new wave) to a remix of Knifehandchop's Neuromancer (seemingly a tribute to an old C-64 classic?). 617/666

"Low Entropy" was the first full-length album by me, released in 2003, as a vinyl 2xLP. While it came out later than my Anarcho-Psychotic EP or Anti-Sedative EP, the material on here came actually from all my past years of doing music starting in 1997, so it was a bit of a "best of" and a lot of the tracks had to "stand their mark" in dozens of live-acts I did before.
I was happy to release this album on Widerstand Records, a very political label, and I included an anarchist programme by Matt Shaw on the backside of the LP sleeve.
Stylistically, this was the last thing I did in Breakcore and related genres, but it also has a lot of Experimental, Industrial stuff on it, and Speedcore and Noize, and you can even find traces of Ravecore and Chipsounds here. In many senses, it was a follow up on my Anti-Sedative EP and the Anarcho-Psychotic one.
So for the first time, this album is re-released in digital sound quality, with the original track masters and differently mixed tracks that are close to the original versions, and a bonus track (originally I had thought about including it on the album back then).
Matt Shaw's original anarchist programme is of course included too.

Hangars Liquides Tribute Mix
After the mid 90s, the "Experimental Hardcore" scene seemed to wither away. Fischkopf was dead, some other labels switched to Breakcore and / or stopped releasing too, things seemed pretty bleak... there were labels that carried the light on into the 2000s years though, and one of the most known of them is Hangars Liquides.
Pioneer label, groundbreaking, extraordinary... a label that to this day has a large following and a high esteemed status amongst music enthusiasts... also a platform for early releases by producers that become important figures later... sparked a whole movement and scene by itself.
But enough words, let the sounds speak for themselves!
